At the heart of Europe, a new logistics hub is reshaping how one of the world’s largest telecom operators manages its supply chain. Built to centralise stock, streamline supplier collaboration and accelerate delivery across markets, the new facility operated by Vodafone represents a major shift in the company’s European logistics strategy.
A future-proof logistics hub
Located in Luxembourg’s Bettembourg logistics corridor, the hub has been developed in partnership with MG Real Estate and will be operated by Vodafone Procure & Connect. It aims to bring together Vodafone’s European inventory and distribution operations under a single roof and transform the company’s logistics network into a more efficient, digitally connected supply chain platform.
“Our close collaboration with Vodafone enabled us to realise this future-proof logistics hub in a remarkably short time,” said Ignace De Paepe, President of MG Real Estate.”
“MG Park Bettembourg demonstrates how strong partnerships and shared ambition can deliver sustainable, connected, and innovative logistics solutions efficiently.”
Centralising Europe’s telecom supply chain
For years, Vodafone’s European supply chain operated through multiple regional warehouses, creating complexity across procurement, distribution and inventory management. The new Luxembourg hub changes that model.
The 36,000-square-metre facility will centralise Vodafone’s European stock allowing the company to manage inventory from a single location.
From Luxembourg, Vodafone estimates that 88% of its existing European warehouses can be reached within 24 hours, dramatically improving responsiveness across its markets.
The hub will enable Vodafone to consolidate multiple storage locations, reduce duplication across its logistics network and gain real-time visibility into inventory flows using digital supply chain tools.
Speaking when the project was first announced in October 2024, Luka Mucic, Chief Financial Officer at Vodafone Group, explained the strategic thinking behind the investment:
“The creation of a new pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg is in line with our strategy to simplify the way we run Vodafone and our commitment to being as cost-efficient as possible in our operations and supply chain. This investment will also reinforce Luxembourg’s position as a world-class logistics centre.”
A digital backbone for supply chain visibility
Beyond physical consolidation, the new hub is designed to support a digitally integrated supply chain.
The facility will be managed by Vodafone Procure & Connect, the company’s procurement and supply chain organisation responsible for overseeing Vodafone’s end-to-end supply chain operations across its markets.
By integrating advanced digital systems into the facility, Vodafone aims to improve supplier collaboration, enhance demand forecasting and optimise delivery schedules across Europe.
Centralised inventory and improved data visibility will allow the company to respond more quickly to demand fluctuations while reducing operational complexity across borders.

Vodafone and logistics transformation
The physical construction of the hub reached a major milestone in June 2025 with the installation of the first structural column.
Speaking at the construction milestone in June 2025, Ninian Wilson, CEO of Vodafone Procure & Connect, highlighted the broader transformation behind the project:
“Setting the first column into the ground is a powerful symbol of progress, not just in the physical construction of the hub, but in the way we are reshaping logistics for the future. Standardisation, efficiency, and sustainability are at the heart of this initiative, ensuring a smarter and more agile supply chain for Vodafone and its customers across Europe.”
The project also reflects a broader industry trend towards supply chain centralisation, where companies consolidate regional inventory into fewer strategic distribution centres supported by digital logistics platforms.
Partnerships powering the project
The hub is being delivered through a collaboration between Vodafone and logistics partners across the region.
The developers responsible for constructing the facility are integrating advanced building technologies and sustainable design principles into the site.
Operationally, Vodafone has appointed CFL Logistics—a subsidiary of CFL Multimodal—to manage warehousing operations, including warehouse management systems and inventory tracking capabilities.
Together, the partners are building what Vodafone describes as one of Europe’s most advanced telecom logistics centres.
Sustainability at the core
Sustainability is another defining feature of the project.
The building is designed to achieve an Outstanding rating under the BREEAM certification system, the highest level of recognition for sustainable buildings in Europe.
Through sustainable materials, energy-efficient technologies and optimised logistics flows, the hub is expected to reduce carbon emissions compared with Vodafone’s previous multi-warehouse model.
Centralising inventory and reducing unnecessary transport movements could also significantly lower the environmental footprint of Vodafone’s supply chain across the continent.
Luxembourg’s strategic logistics advantage
The decision to build the hub in Luxembourg reflects the country’s growing importance as a European logistics gateway.
Located near major motorway corridors and rail infrastructure—including the Bettembourg intermodal freight terminal—the site provides direct connectivity to markets across the continent.
At the construction ceremony in June 2025, Lex Delles, Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, highlighted the significance of the project for the country’s logistics sector:
“Vodafone’s decision to establish its pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg reinforces our position as a sustainable and innovative logistics platform at the heart of Europe.”

A blueprint for telecom supply chains
As telecommunications networks expand and infrastructure demand increases, logistics is becoming an increasingly strategic capability for operators.
By centralising European inventory, integrating digital supply chain systems and embedding sustainability into the facility’s design, Vodafone’s new logistics hub is aiming to offer a blueprint for how telecom companies can modernise supply chains to support next-generation network deployments.
