Aurora Innovation is strengthening its position in the autonomous freight sector through a new customer agreement with Charger Logistics, which will deploy Aurora’s second-generation driverless trucks to increase capacity and improve fleet utilisation across one of North America’s busiest freight corridors.
Aurora Innovation, Inc. (Aurora) has announced a new customer agreement with Charger Logistics, under which Charger Logistics will begin driverless hauls using Aurora’s second-generation driverless truck. The collaboration will enable Charger Logistics to integrate the Aurora Driver into its network, supporting greater capacity and improving operational efficiency.
The initial driverless operations will begin on the route between Dallas and Laredo, a key freight lane within the Sun Belt region and one of Charger Logistics’ busiest corridors.
“Our new fleet of driverless trucks enables us to meet the substantial demand we’ve seen since we first launched last year,” said Zac Andreoni, Vice President of Business Development at Aurora.
“Charger’s scale and reach across North America give us a strong foundation to grow from – this is just the first of many routes we expect to bring online together.”
